Consult for porn?

I know stuffs. A reasonable size of stuffs. And to this, I can virtually pass for a consultant (I heard with the right suit, office and accomplices). With all that I know, I’m genuinely a Christian, too. Infact, God is mostly responsible for the inspiration, keenness and savoir faire I possess. Prospective clients don’t always know I’m subordinate to God in this industry. Why should they, that would likely reduce my market share. Huh? I’m not certain of that. I’m yet to test that one out. But here’s what I know: Christians have been one tribe with supportive fellows. Personally, I would support any legitimate Christian business endeavor to a reasonable length. The target is financial independence and liberty for the brethren. 

Anyways, a business is about selling products. Certain products do not exactly have a tribe, race or other distinguishing feature. After the logic for a target market is known, you can sell to almost anyone. On the surface that would settle the issue for me but no, I’m adding another factor to my trade: ethics. I do have to add ethics in a brazen and deep fashion else untargeted clients would come my way. Actually, they already have. Recently I was met casually by an individual who knew not who I am, professionally. We conversed about sobering up for better prospects for the new year. We judged aside regular people. He asked light questions about online enterprise endeavors which had been on his mind. I did try to answer them, offering as a source of value but surely watching the fine line between professional knowledge and talking. 

The fellow was pleased. I lent him an app on the spot to secure an encouragement for plans, after I formally spoke of my trade. Then, what business in particular were we talking about? Porn! A freaking porn site!!! So, I became still and silent. I never tried much more afterwards. I wouldn’t be slightly interested in that. I try, in cases like this to, speak neutrally. Neutrality – is the highest consensus I can land at with complicated clients. Without neutrality, ethics cannot endure. Some cases of course don’t deserve a deliberation on neutrality. Lord knows, I’m not meant to do consulting for any resemblance of pornography.

The unconscious practice

The involuntary actions we enact go to sustain and bolster our lives. And, it is such a good thing that they mostly work as they please and not when we would proactively have them. We take in air to wake up again and live tomorrow. As it is with the thread of our subconscious thinking and with the logic of our life’s progress. 

Coming up from childhood when our habits and characteristics begin to build up, the traits of our specialization in life also gets mustered. I used to be such a writer whose weavings became expressions of long-windedness, unmindful ramblings and circuitous viewpoints. Many who would review stuff for me then would extol my wits. Simply because I would have applied uncanniness. 

If my writing has become marginally better, if I have used simpler synonyms and phrases now, it’s not so much due to how much I have studied. Given, I have read several style guides. Prominent among them is George Orwell’s. I usually found it difficult to study a piece and what – imitate it? Need I say it’s never original and what’s worse is that one winds up being more confused. What primarily worked for me is the apparent confrontation with the need for simplification, demystifying the world. 
The older I grew, the simpler I understood I really had to become. Possibly because of increased responsibilities. Herein is the context of that confrontation: the times when I did have feedbacks that indicated that much needed communication ought to be passed more lucidly. Being that I’m not British, it was fitting that I comply. Who says I’m a worthy writer anyways. I can still be quite logically inconsistent. I find certain genres tedious to delve into. Like these musings on the site, they stand to be the hardest pieces on the available categories to compile. Engagements and interactions in life did shape the practice of my being a lucid writer in a manner which I couldn’t have desired by myself. We stand not having the capacity of merely being the sum of our thoughts, but a product of randomly progressive acts. Writing has been made an example of here, but there’s much more that life does develop for us. 

The how of productivity

Productivity is often viewed from the end result basis. Results are just results, they are not productivity per se. Results could be gotten by diverse means but productivity is the step which achieves it. 

Some would view productivity as the persistent expense of great energies. It is, sometimes. But most times it is in every other detail. Such details as the ability to minutely execute your plans and intents accordingly. 
D R U D G E R Y

Drudgery can be mental or physical. If physical, it’s called slothfulness and laziness. If mental, exercise will not help and so it can be worse. There’s a level in work equilibrium that’s stupid. You will have to attain that level to scale through mental drudgery. To get it, you have to keep on senselessly working only because you’re not done yet. 
R E S U L T S

Depending on how scientific your end is, your results might need to be sharp with high conformance. If not, it merely needs to be relative. 

When those minute acts are put together it usually would be found out that time was not wasted, while the results will present the quality of our acts, we might be shown in the end to have either failed or not. 

However, there is a way to come off as actively result-oriented which is by the stable presentation of the picture of our ends not the means to our mind; this’ll focus our approaches to getting done what must be done. 

On workweeks

Monday to Friday – entails the official days allocated to most jobs. As much organizational progress as is possible is sought to be achieved within this frame. Many times, the organization doesn’t know as a certainty what it wants to accomplish in a week’s time due to regularization and the bureaucracy that governs their efforts. But they can know what is to be achieved in the short and long term. The short term then gets broken into months, weeks, groups, days and individuals. But one thing is prime: there is a target towards which the efforts of the week is made for.

So then, a workweek is action geared in the short term towards an eventual goal. 
D R E A M S

Those lofty aspirations to make the imagination a material. A material does not however exist in the abstract. It is usually as good a fact as anything else. 

To make good of such goodly imaginations we must commit our conceptions to chunks of interpretation. The only way to make our dreams truly worthy. And because dreams come from a land whose timeframe we do not entirely understand, a timeline should be made to conform it to the realities of our world. For work produces the chances for the creation of yield. 
W O R K W E E K

How long should you work? The answer is never should you not work. For work is life’s progress. And such is why a week can never be enough for it. But yet, one has to learn how to manage a week at all. The most important knowledge to hold on maintaining a workweek is that you can work through and with almost anything. This anyways is, the revolutionary offering of our century. But you must set up your peculiar procedure to work as suited for you. And you will work on. The mystery of keeping at it is to not break the focus. This is one of the major reasons for which offices were established. 

Downtime science

Downtime becomes the price or cross given to anyone, as many as are short of immediate luck, to endure the rewards time and chance brings. 

It begins with one’s ability to desire reaching somewhere. But you won’t just achieve this. Not because you don’t have what it takes. It’s more on the side of the Universe – there has to be an adequate shake up to accommodate the achievement you are bringing forth. But there’s more, it’s not just the shake up that the Universe excuses on you, it EXCUSES persistent diligence at what you do, processing your ability to get there on time. It’s the one who keeps at it that eventually gets there. 

In the environment of downtime, you’re free to be despondent and mourn. But not for so long. Because opportunity would often come without foreknowledge. That’s how it works, not everyone can get what they want at the same time. Success is scarce. Only they who are awake and actionable will be lifted. 
I’m Down, How Do I Stay Actionable?

By the sheer fact of never giving up. You don’t have to always run to ensure you aren’t giving up, you just but have to never turn back. It’s humanely possible and can be achieved. It usually has. You just have to arm yourself with the understanding. 

The truth is that downtime is a phase. And no one wholly gets you out of it but you. If you’d be successful, you have to come out of it. Success doesn’t live in the valley. 

Act before you plan. Then, evaluate later. With that, you’d usually reduce the odds of flopping almost everytime. 

Persistence: the success stabilizer

It is not intended to be asserted that the magic wand to success is simply being persistent. While it’s a key spell to make the thing happen; it’s not everything. At least, not the way it can quickly be presented anywhere. 

As humans, we tend to not be so consistent all the time. We basically have our downtimes. Since we are not softwares nor systems. And it’s a good thing. It only gets bad when our humanity is allowed to slack too much, more than we’re capable of reining in. So persistence becomes the whip that ensures we accomplish what we ought to. 

Man is a “work being.” And he don’t bypass it, as though it were the literature of some company’s terms and conditions. He lives through it, that toil given him under heaven. But what’s pertinent is to keep at it everytime. And it’s possible. Just that it lives across a wilderness onto the promised land. Or, above gravitational altitude. Or submerged in steady travel within the deep. Bits of action. Okay no, calories to be burnt in the body and the mind too are the prices it takes to hit an equilibrium of persistence. The trick there is that you may not know that these calories are establishing stuff. Because there are like singular blocks, but they build a structure overtime nevertheless. So, build. And build now. 

What counts is what we do. And when we stop doing it, there’s not so much count towards success. Well, nobody I know does the counting but it happens anyways. And whatever you do that counts, you have to be adept at understanding that you will get there in a bit, too. 

Banks, business and starting out

So the bank’s interest rates for commercial loans are upwards 16%. If you lent N500,000 you’ll pay back N580,000 in obligation. 

We say, don’t do it.
With reasons…..
• the trend of macroeconomic activities continuously exerts a downward pressure on the economy. Inflation and the exchange rate confirms this.
• the economic environment isn’t normal. Due to consumer spending being quite modest if not low.
• banks are capitalist to the teeth. They’d take their collateral for real if you default
(To default is to be unable to furnish the complete repayment for a loan agreement).

The conditions under which to take on liability are these…

Strong Forecast of The Future..
If you’ve had a thorough financial analytical method that shows that the profitability of your enterprise in your industry is very likely, within a short period of time, then you can take on liability freely.

An Uncontrolling Equity…
Equity is the stake of ownership one is entitled to in a business for various commitments. And no one should overwhelmingly take charge of your business more than yourself and..your team.

Equity is usually split up when you need cash or services which are not within your corporate abilities so you yield an ownership portion of your company as a relative form of even value.

What I learnt from playing Scrabble about life and business

What you have to understand foremost than any other thing about me and Scrabble is that, I’m such a whack player at the game. 

I’ve had the Scrabble game set around for a couple years. I never knew how to play it. I just understood that it was a game of words. I always waited for when I’d have an enthusiastic group of friends at home one day and we’ll be interested in offline features enough for me to dust off my Scrabble game to the table and learn as I play. 

Incidentally, my wish was granted. 

I knew enough to get my own “tile stander”. And the next rule I would learn is that, only seven tiles can sit upon it per time. It is a word game, i thought, I’ll squash these people. I only had this confidence because of my background as a writer. You know, having to take up the aesthetics of writing, we have to acquire a large base of vocabulary. To make writing or story telling, or however the case may be, rich and quite versatile. So hence my confidence!

Now the next rule I would learn is that games are so ridden with rules and that is why they are games. The rules make the competition. 

And you must note that the players at the table for this round were three. And the two fellows who I supposed would be literary victims of mine, were experienced in the game. 

But I was worried in a way all through the game. My mind wasn’t settled. There were several things that had my thoughts. Especially Facebook. But it isn’t standing as a legitimate excuse, for I was present for my technical play in time, brainstormed appropriately but only just lagged behind in my play as the other players complained due to my lack of aforetime readiness.

So game on…

I discovered how spelling on a “board” can be difficult and tricky. I needed help here and there, after much hesitation. I couldn’t believe myself. I always told the other players to wait during my turn to allow me think too much. And then, I liberalized my game to them. And we progressed. 

THIS TAUGHT ME that life and business is literally not a one man show and alliances must be made, no matter how good enough we perceive ourselves to be. Cos no one is ever so ready for the hurdles of life. They’re people who “know technically better”, make alliances with them. Having prowess in whatsoever isn’t enough, due to the versatility success demands. 

As the game progressed, sometimes I had to give up my turns. Cos I couldn’t figure out what to spell. Can you imagine that? I can. And it occurred that way cos of the lack of preparation i kept on. The two experienced players prepared, and even advised me to. But I was confident in my vocabulary base.    

THIS TAUGHT ME THAT preparation is key to successful implementation. 

As we gamed on, it got to the point where I literally begged to be helped many times. The only successes I secured were usually two word tiles. And as I begged, the two players I gamed with often saw loopholes that I could fill with my initiative and didn’t see it. I’m sure they were shocked to an extent cos they’d viewed me as reasonably smart in life.You don’t mention the vulnerabilities, it was everywhere. 

THIS TAUGHT ME that the rules of the game and the wits thereof for its practical play, I knew it not. I had so much “other” real stuff to learn.
